Mumbai Indians finished with a healthy 160 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. For Mumbai Indians TL Suman scored 36 and KA Pollard scored 28, for Pune warriors JE Taylor, Yuvraj Singh, R sharma took 2 wickets each.

In reply Pune warriors opened the batting with JD Ryder and MK Pandey, for Mumbai Indians Harbhajan Singh opened the bowling. Pune warriors lost JD Ryder of the very first ball to Harbhajan Singh. GC Smith too had a painful stay for his 6 and was eventually out of MM Patel. AA Jhunjhunwala came ahead of Yuvraj Singh and instead of helping pune warriors he created more trouble by wasting balls and getting out to KA Pollard. Yuvraj Singh came out in a pressure situation and with MK Pandey scored some glorious shots but eventually fell under pressure for 20 to a SL Malings bouncer. RV Uthappa and MK Pandey then threatened to take the match away with awesome hitting. Pune warriors hope vanished when MK Pandey was out to SL Malinga and Pune warriors eventually scored 139 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Pune warriors lost with 21 runs. Kings XI Punjab won the toss and opted to bowl first. For Mumbai Indians DJ Jacobs and Sachin Tendulkar opened the batting, for Kings XI Punjab BA Bhatt opened the bowling. Then Sachin Tendulkar and AT Rayudu score 95 runs of just 12 overs and gave a good platform for the next batsmen to come and play thier shots. Mumbai Indians had a rather decent start when they were 22 for no loss in 3 overs and DJ Jacobs was looking dangerous for more shots. Once DJ Jacobs was out in the fourth over to A Singh Mumbai Indians collapsed to Rajasthan Royals tight bowling. SK Warne Introduced J Botha late into the innings and quickly he responded with 3 quick wickets and peg back Mumbai Indians even further and restrict Mumbai Indians to a total of just 94 for the loss of 8 wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. In reply Rajasthan Royals opened the batting with SR Watson and R Dravid, Mumbai Indians opened the bowling as usual with SL Malinga. Rajasthan Royals started their chase very slowly and lost R Dravid early for 5 to Munaf Patel. J Botha and SR Watson played cautiously and slowly moved towards the target. They waited for the loose balls and punished them when Mumbai Indians offered them. SR Watson was out to SL Malinga for a well made 26 and J Botha continued with his shots and steered Rajasthan Royals home. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and their captain Dhoni elected to field first. For Mumbai Indians R Sathish and Tendulkar opened the batting and for Chennai Super kings JA Morkel opened the bowling. Mumbai Indians lost both the openers R Sathish and Tendulkar quiet cheaply and the Chennai Super Kings bowlers where threatening to make further in roads into Mumbai Indians. Then came Rohit Sharma for the rescue, he and Rayudu played very well and their parternship of 61 helped Mumbai Indians out of trouble. Once Rayudu was out Rohit sharma and Symmonds made sure Mumbai Indians reached a above par total of 164 of their 20 overs. Chennai super kings had a good start from their openers Hussey and vijay. Munaf provided the first break through for Mumbai Indians when he dismissed Vijay for 12 in 4th over. Chennai super kings lost raina quickly for 5 caught and bowled by Harbhajan. Hussey and Badrinath partnerhsip was threatening to take the match away. then entered malinga, who bowled a short ball to hussey who then tires to pull but coudnt get enough and outside edge was just touching the ground that pollard dived full length to catch it and give hopes for Mumbai Indians. Pune Warriors won the toss and choosed to bat first. Mumbai Indians bowler AN Ahmed struck twice in 4th over to give a fantastic start to Mumbai Indians. Pune Warriors coudnt come out of the early loss and sccumbed to pressure and kept loosing wickets. Uthappa played a lone hand for Pune Warriors where as others struggled to score. Pune warriors scored a below par 118 and where allout within 18 overs. For Pune warriors Uthappa scored a fluent 45 and for Mumbai Indians Munaf Patel took 3 and Mortaza, Malinga and Ahmed took 2 each.

In reply Mumbai Indians lost Franklin early. Tendulkar and Rayudu played sensible cricket and rotated the strike at will and moved towards the target. Once Tendulkar and Rayudu where gone, Pune Warriors applied pressure from both ends and dried the runs out. Rohit Sharma and A Symmonds played with cool mind and rotated strikes with ones and two. Match went till last ball and one was required of last ball. Rohit sharma blasted it into the stands to fetch the victory. Mumbai should have won long back but some nervous moments got it to the last ball of the match. For Mumbai Indians Rayudu made 37 and Tendulkar 35 and for Pune warriors thomas, waugh and sharma took a wicket a piece. Mumbai won rather unconvincingly with 7 wickets.

India Vs Australia First Test

I am writing this at 01:41 PM CST, watching the final day session two after lunch. Where india need 54 runs and Johnson is bowling to ishant.

After a long time india is looking beyound Srilanka. Yeah there is a surprise for you, India is going to play Australia their favourite opponents. Lately India Vs Australia series has been one of the toughest and closest.

First test started with the same promise. As usual Dhoni lost the toss and Ponting choose to bat first. India's bowling was spearheaded by Zaheer, others to assist him where Ishant, Harbhajan and Ojha. Zaheer got rid of Katich early, but ponting and watson got the things going. Raina brilliantly ran out ponting and gave india the much needed momentum to make inroads at regular intervals. Watson stood firm and completed his century at other end. India kept on the pressure but paine and johnson took them past the 400 run score. Zaheer took a five for and paine missed what could have been his maiden test century. He made a patient 92. Australia scored 428 in their first innings.

India started their first inning with their most successful opening partners sehwag and gambhir. India started well and where going run a ball until gambhir was out. Sehwag soon followed him after a brisk half century. After night watchmen ishants departure tendulkar and dravid held the innings together and scored half centuries respectively. After dravid's departure raina came and gave support to sachin who was eventullay out 2 short of his century. Once sachin was out Australia crawled back into the game and polished off the tail and india were allout for 405 runs. Australia got the upperhand by taking a 23 run lead. Johnson took a five for australia and for india sehwag,dravid, tendulkar and raina scored half centuries.

Australia after their 23 run lead started their second innings to build the lead. Watson started positively and scored at a brisk rate. In no time he reached his half century and with katich was looking good to extend the lead futher more. Ishant who was wayward in the first innings got his rhythm back and took three quick wickets to peg australia back. Indian spinners took the charge next and had four wickets between them as Zaheer returned to complete the tail with his ferocious reverse swing. Australia where all out for 192 and setting india a target of 216 runs. For australia watson made half century and for india zaheer and ishant took 3 wickets a piece.

India's chase was hit right in the first over when Gambhir was adjudged LBW when the ball was clearly going leg side. Inspite of the early first wicket india tried to score runs at faster rate, generally thats the case though when sehwag is around in the middle. End of the fourth day with late burst form the australia bowlers india were reduced to 55 for 4 and still needing 161 on the lastday and only 6 wickets in hand which includes laxman who had injured his back and will bat only if required.

Fifth day started with all the possible results possible. Tendulkar and zaheer started well and were steady until zaheer was out to hauritz. Laxman came to bat with raina as runner as he had a bad back. Laxman and Tendulkar started the counter attack and started scoring at a faster pace and didnt allowed any bowler to settle. Tendulkar was out for 38, dhoni and harbhajan followed him soon and india required another 92 runs and just two wickets in hand. Then came Ishant to support laxman in the middle. Ishant blocked the australia bowlers with determination and on the other hand helped laxman score runs at will. They added 81 runs and where almost at touching distance that another bad umpiring saw Ishant walking back to pavilion. Wicket of Ishant raise lot of hopes for australians as they were just a wicket away from victory. Ojha looked very tensed but he managed to hold on. Ojha was lucky to miss a close LBW call and a run out for which he got four overthrows. He flicked the ball towards leg and completed 2 runs and gave india victory by one run.

Laxman was unbeaten on 73 from 79 balls as india registered their first one wicket win in tests. Laxman was the man of the moment, no one knows why he plays so well against a team which is hightly rated for their skills in cricket. He was given a special prize for this efforts during the presentation ceremony.

Zaheer was adjudged man of the match for his crucial 8 wickets.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. Jayasuriya and Tendulkar gave mumbai a dream start to Mumbai and at the strategic timeout there score was 111 for no loss. Both the openers blasted the kolkata bowlers to all parts of the ground and didnt spared or respected any bowler. Tendulkar was more severe in both and was very agressive. They scored 127 of 12.2 overs and paved the way for a big score. Tendulkar was out caught in front of Shukla's bowling for 68 of 45 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Jayasuriya socred 52 of 32 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. Later down the order mumbai batsman coudnt captalize on the start and made 187 of their 20 overs. Which was clearly below par when considerd to start their openers gave them. But this was enough to defend Kolkata Knight riders who are struggling to win a match in this season. For Kolkata shukla took 3 wickets and was the stike bowler.

As usual Kolkata Knight Riders started their chase in a negative note when their lost their openers with 17 on the board. Hodge and Ganguly consolidated later and scored a decent 71 at the strategic timeout and were looking for more. But soon later hodge was out when he was bowled by nayar and in his next over nayar removed ganguly and mumbai lost the rest of the wickets for a shameful 15 runs and were bowled out for 95 in 15.2 overs. Ganguly socred 34 and hodge 24 and no other batsmen could score a reasonalbe score. For Mumbai Malinga and nayar took 3 wicket a piece and Bravo chipping in with 2 wickets. Eventually kolkata knight riders lost the match by 92 runs.
