Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 43: Chennai Super Kings v Rajasthan Royals"



Hi and welcome to the Match No 43 of the IPL 2011 season between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals are on a high and giving stiff competition for the top spot for Mumbai Indians and Chennai super kings have made a quick turn around from bottom of the points table to top four. Lets see who gets the momentum ahead by winning this crucial match.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bat first. For Rajasthan Royals SR Watson and R Dravid opened the batting, for Chennai Super Kings JA Morkel opened the bowling. SR Watson and R Dravid gave Rajasthan Royals a fantastic start when they were 86 for no loss of the first 10 overs. Thing changes fast as Rajasthan Royals lost the way and kept loosing wickets. It all started with a brilliant return catch by SB Jakati to get rid of SR Watson. R Dravid held his wicket at other end for a while but he coudnt bloster the total and was out to S Randiv. LRPL Taylor played few shots for his 20 before getting out to JA Morkel. Inspite of the fantastic start Rajasthan Royals managed 147 for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. For Rajasthan Royals R Dravid scored 66 and SR Watson scored 32, for Chennai Super Kings SB Jakati and JA Morkel took 2 wickets a piece.

In reply Chennai Super kings opened the batting with MEK Hussey and M Vijay, for Rajasthan Royals ND Doshi opened the bowling. Chennai Super Kings lost M Vinay in the second over when he was caught leg before by J Botha for 5 and scored at 8 of 2 overs. MEK Hussey and SK Raina then attacked the Rajasthan Royals bowlers and where near to vitory. SK Raina in anticipation of finishing the match with a boundary was out to SK Trivedi. MEK Hussey completed the finishing formalities and chennai where home with 8 wickets and 8 balls to spare. For Chennai Super Kings MEK Hussey scored 79* and SK Raina scored 61, for Rajasthan Royals J Botha and SK Trivedi took a wicket a piece.

Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 39: Chennai Super Kings v Deccan Chargers"



Hi and Welcome to the Match No 39 of the IPL 2011 season between Chennai Super Kings and Deccan Chargers. Chennai Super Kings are coming from behind and are currently in top four of the points table and on other hand Deccan Chargers have just come out of the bottom and placed at 6th place. Lets see who takes the advantage going ahead.

Chennai Super kings won the toss and elected to bat first. For Chennai Super kings M Vijay and MEK Hussey opened the batting, for Deccan Chargers surprisingly JP Duminy opened the bowling. Chennai super kings lost M Vijay early when he was bowled by PP Oha for 3 with chennai super kings score at 18 in 3.4 overs. MEK Hussey and SK Raina then played brilliantly and moved on. MEK Hussey was out to Harmeet singh and SK Raina continued his big hitting on another end. MS Dhoni and JA Morkel chipped in with useful contributions. I Sharma and A Mishra the start bowlers for Deccan Chargers in IPL 2011 season where out of color today. Backed by SK Raina's half century Chennai Super Kings scored 165 for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. For Chennai super kings SK Raina scored 59, MEK Hussey scored 46 and JA Morkel 19, for Deccan Chargers PP Ojha took 3 wickets.

In reply Deccan chargers opened the batting with S Sohal and S Dhawan, for Chennai Super kings JA Morkel opened the bowling. S Sohal gave a fanstastic start to Deccan Chargers chase when he scored 56 of just 30 balls, for once he was bowled by SB Jakati. Chennai Super kings applied the pressure and Deccan Chargers kept loosing wickets at regular intervals. KC Sangakkara too fell to DE Bollinger and Deccan Chargers Managed to score just 146 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Chennai Super kings won by 19 runs. For Deccan Chargers S Sohal scored 56, for Chennai Super Kings JA Morkel took 3 wickets.

Hi and Welcome to the 31st match of the IPL 2011 season between Chennai Super Kings and Pune Warriors. Chennai Super Kings are on a high after their recent win and Pune warriors are a little bit low after their recent loss will try to amend their loss with a win here. Lets see how they would progress ahead in this tournment.

Pune warriors won the toss and opted to bat first. JD Ryder and MD Mishra Opened the batting for Pune Warriors, for Chennai Super kings KMDN Kulasekara and DE Bollinger opened the bowling. Chennai super kings DE Bollinger destroyed Pune Warriors batting when he had both the openers in the fourth over. Pune warriors kept loosing wickets at regular intervals and it was left to the old dark horses Yuvraj singh and RV Uthappa to revive Pune Warriors score. Both of them added another 42 runs in 6 overs before RV Uthappa was out to R Ashwin. Yuvraj Singh completed his half century and made sure that Pune warriors reached a respectable total of 141 in their 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. For Pune Warriors Yuvraj singh scored 62* and RV Uthappa scored 31, Chennai super kings DE Bollinger took 3 wickets.

In reply Chennai super kings started rather cautiously and in the process lost MEK Hussey for 9 in the 5th over when Chennai super kings score was 19. M Vijay and S Badrinath took on the attack to Pune warriors bowlers and scored at will. Once M Vijay was out for 31 of JD Ryder, S Badrinath and SK Raina made sure that there were no more casualties and took Chennai Super Kings home with 8 wickets and 3 balls to spare. For Chennai Super kings S Badrinath scored 63* and SK Raina 34*, for Pune Warriors M Kartik and JD Ryder took a wicket a piece.

Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 25: Mumbai Indians v Chennai Super Kings"



Welcome to Match No: 25 between the giants of IPL 2011 Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. These are the defending finalist of the IPL 2010. Both the teams are likely favourites this time around too, lets see how the encounter went through.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and their captain Dhoni elected to field first. For Mumbai Indians R Sathish and Tendulkar opened the batting and for Chennai Super kings JA Morkel opened the bowling. Mumbai Indians lost both the openers R Sathish and Tendulkar quiet cheaply and the Chennai Super Kings bowlers where threatening to make further in roads into Mumbai Indians. Then came Rohit Sharma for the rescue, he and Rayudu played very well and their parternship of 61 helped Mumbai Indians out of trouble. Once Rayudu was out Rohit sharma and Symmonds made sure Mumbai Indians reached a above par total of 164 of their 20 overs. For Mumbai Indians Rohit sharma scored 87, Symmonds 31 and Rayudu 27, for Chennai Super Kings Bollinger took 2 wickets.

Chennai super kings had a good start from their openers Hussey and vijay. Munaf provided the first break through for Mumbai Indians when he dismissed Vijay for 12 in 4th over. Chennai super kings lost raina quickly for 5 caught and bowled by Harbhajan. Hussey and Badrinath partnerhsip was threatening to take the match away. then entered malinga, who bowled a short ball to hussey who then tires to pull but coudnt get enough and outside edge was just touching the ground that pollard dived full length to catch it and give hopes for Mumbai Indians. Once Hussey was back to the pavilion, Chennai super kings lost wickets at regular intervals but Badrinath played his shots from other end and match was undecided till the last three balls where 17 was required of 3 balls. Munaf bowled nervless 3 balls and Mumbai where home with 8 runs. For chennai super kings Badrinath socred 71* and Hussey 41, for Mumbai Indians Harbhajan took 5 wickets.

Hi and Welcome to the Match No 14 of the IPL season 2011 between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chennai Super Kings had good begining to this IPL and they are the defending champions and on other side Royal challengers Bangalore havent had any impact and they getting worse with each game. lets see if they can make their role reversal or will it be the same.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. For Chennai Super Kings MEK Hussey and M Vijay opened the batting, for Royal challengers Bangalore Zaheer Khan opened the bowling. Chennai Super Kings had a great start when they where 50 without any loss in 6 overs. Royal challengers Bangalore lost M Vijay and SK Raina played some great shots and had palyed a cameo with 29 runs. MS Dhoni too played few shots in his innings of 22 runs. MEK Hussey played brilliantly and carried his bat thru and made sure chennai scored a defendable total of 183 runs with a loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. for Chennai super kings MEK Hussey scored 83* and M Vijay scored 31, for Royal challengers Bangalore JJ van der Wath and R Ninan took two wickets each.

In reply royal challengers bangalore opened the batting with MA Agarwal and TM Dilshan, Chennai Super kings opened the bowling with JA Morkel. Royal challengers Bangalore lost two quick wickets with just 17 on the board. V Kohli and AB de Villiers tried to repair the damage and in the process of scoring quickly V kohli was out to SB Jakati. There on Royal Challengers Bangalore kept loosing wickets at regular intervals and scored just 162 for the loss of 7 wickets in their permitted 20 overs. For Royal challengers Bangalore AB de Villiers scored 65 and V Kohli 35, for Chennai Super kings JA Morkel and S Randiv took two wickets each.

Hello and welcome to the 9th Match of the IPL 2011 Season between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings. Chennai Super Kings after initial success and looking pretty good and Kings XI Punjab after their disastrous first match are looking to start it fresh. Lets see who will have the upper hand going forward in IPL 2011 season.

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and selected to bowl first. For Chennai Super Kings S Anirudha and M Vijay opened the batting, for Kings XI Punjab P Kumar openined the bowling. Kings XI Punjab tasted success when P Kumar got the wicket of S Anirudha of the very first ball and SK Raina of the very next ball. M Vijay and S Badrinath then shared a brilliant 124 partnership in less than 15 overs. When M Vijay was out to PP Chawla MS Dhoni joined S Badrinath and scored 64 of the next 5 overs and gave Chennai Super kings an excellent total of 188 for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. For Chennai Super kings M Vijay Scored 74, S Badrinath scored 66* and MS Dhoni 43, for Kings XI Punjab P Kumar took 2 wickets.

In reply Kings XI Punjab opened with PC Valthaty (A relatively new face) and their captain AC Gilchrist, as usual R Ashwin opened the bowling for Chennai Super Kings. Kings XI Punjab had a fanstastic start when PC Valthaty blasted chennai super kings bowlers to all parts of the ground. Inspite of Kings XI Punjab loosing wickets at one end, he continued his clean hits from other end and kept the required run rate under control. KD Karthik joined him in the end and PC Valthaty and KD Karthik took Kings XI Punjab home with 6 wickets in hand and nearly one over to spare. PC Valthaty scored a brillinat century and paced the chase brilliantly. For Kings XI Punjab PC Valthaty scored 120* and KD Karthik 21*, for Chennai Super kings TG Southee, JA Morkel and S Randiv took a wicket a piece.

Hi and welcome to IPL 2011. After the very popular and superb world cup here we are with the 4th edition of IPL in 2011. After the breath taking opening ceremony we are here with the inaugural match of IPL 2011 between Defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkatta Knight Riders.

Chennai super kings won the toss and Chennai super kings captain dhoni elected to bat first. Chennai lost Murli vijay in the first over to Iqbal Abdullah. Raina and Anirudha played really well and took chennai to 80 after 10 overs. Dhoni came to the crease after Raina was out for 33. Dhoni too played a camero of 29 runs. Anirudha played anchors role and made a patient and superb 64. Chennai made a decent and competitive score of 153 in their allotted 20 overs. Kallis was the most successful bowler for Kolkatta Knight Riders with 2 wickets.

Kolkatta Knight Riders had a good start when bisla and Kallis added 64 for the first wicket. Once bisla was out to Jakati Kolkatta Knight Riders panicked and Chennai super kings applied more pressure. Tiwaris 2 sixes gave a hope for Kolkatta Knight Riders but Chennai super kings kept their cool at the end to seal a nail biting 2 run win. For Kolkatta Knight Riders Kallis top scored with 54 runs and for Chennai Super Kings Southee, Ashwin, Randiv, Jakati and Raina took a wicket a piece.

Chennai Super Kings S Anirudha was adjudged Man of the Match

Match No 22: Chennai Super Kings Vs Rajasthan Royals

Chennai Super Kings started their IPL 2009 campaign poorly but now they are gaining their strenght and showing their authority with big wins. Today they have defeated Rajasthan Royals by 38 runs at SuperSportPark Centurion.

Rajasthan won the toss and elected to field first. Chennai started their Innings quite disastrously when they lost the leading run scorer for IPL 2009 "Hayden" for 1 in 2 balls and soon patel followed him for 3 in 11 balls. Then Raina with Badrinath added 67 runs in 7 overs to steady the innings. Later Badrinath was foxed by warne for 29 of 27 balls with 4 fours and Oram joined him soon without troubling the scoreres and making just 2 of 6 balls. Dhoni came to crease and gave a supporting role to Raina. Other end Raina went after the bowling of Rajasthan Royals and played a gem of an innings before being out to Patel. Scorers got confused and declared 100 for Raina when he was still on 98 and that led Raina to score freely and he was out for 98 of 55 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes. Chennai scored a majestic 164 of their allotted 20 overs. For Rajasthan Yousuf Pathan and Munaf patel took 2 wickets each.

Rajasthan Royals started their chase with a setback when their lost smith for just 2 of 5 balls and socre reading 9 of 2 overs. Rajasthan Royals continously loosed wickets, with the exception of Jadeja no one were able to score a decent score and were allout for 126 and lost the match by 38 runs. Jadeja scored 37 of 33 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. For Chennai Balaji took 4 wickets and Oram and Morkel took 2 wickets each.

Man of the Match was awarded to SK Raina for his gem of an inning of 98 of 55 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes.

Scores: Chennai Super Kings 164 for 5 (Raina 98, Badrinath 29) beat Rajasthan Royals 126 for 9 (Jadeja 37, Balaji 4-21) by 38 runs

Cricket: "Gibbs makes it four in a row for Hyderabad



Match No 16: Chennai super Kings Vs Deccan Chargers

Hyderabad Deccan Charges registered their fourth win in a row. They defeated Strongest contenders Chennai super kings with 6 wickets and 3 balls to spare are Kingsmead, Durban.

Hyderabad Deccan charges won the toss and elected to field first. Chennai super kings had a bad start when they lost Patel in the first over when he was caught behind of Edwards of the very second delivery of first over. Raina and hayden stedied the inning with a second wicket partnerhip of 64 of just 6 overs. Raina was deceived by sharma and was out when the score was readig 64 of 7 overs. Dhoni and hayden had a reasonable partnership, but once Ojha was introduced runs were hard to comeby and in the process of accelerating the score hayden and dhoni fell in the 12 over to Ojha. Hayden made 49 and Dhoni 22. Late cameo from Oram 41 of 29 balls made sure that Chennai made a strong score of 165 of their 20 overs. For Chennai Hayden scored 49 Oram scored 41 while for Hyderabad ojha took 2 crucial wickets.

Hyderabad had an excellent opening stand of 67 runs with just 5.4 overs on the board. Both Gilchrist and Gibbs were thrashing the hapless chennai bowlers. Dhoni move of introducing raina in the 6 over returned rich results with Gilchrist's wicket. He scored 44 of 19 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Laxman who is not in his prime form soon followed Gilchrist with 4 of 5 balls then rohit sharma gave good support to Gibbs before being caught behind of Balaji. Then smith soon followed him but shocased his power by hitting a four and a six of this 5 balls stay of 12 runs and later Bilakhia and Gibbs ensured that there are no more casualities and romped home with 6 wickets and 3 balls to spare. For Hyderabd Gibbs scored 69 of 56 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes and Gilchrist scored 44 of 19 balls. Raina was the successful bowler with 2 wickets against his name.

Man of the Matchwas awarded to HH Gibbs for his Match Winning innings of 69 of 56 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Cricket: "Chennai Super Kings V Kolkata Knight Riders Match Abandoned without a ball bowled"



IPL Season 2 13th Match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders was to be held in Newlands, Cape Town. Match was washed out and was later Abandoned without a ball bowled. Both the teams share a point each. Chennai Super kings were desperately waiting for the match to happen and collect their share of 2 complete points. Other side Kolkata Knight Riders were happy to share one point, since they were sure they might have lost the game.

At last Kolkatta Knight Riders started their account with one point and chennai sadly lost a point with this washout. Lets whats in store ahead in this IPL Season 2. Stay tuned for more updates.

Cricket: "Delhi Dare Devils win's thriller against Chenai Super Kings"



Delhi Dare Devils won the high scoring thriller against Chennai Super kings at Kingsmead, Durban. It was easily the best match till date in IPL Season 2. It was any body's game till the last over of the match.

Delhi Dare Devils won the toss and elected to bat first. Delhi started it disastrously by losing Gambhir of the very first ball. Sehwag soon followed him the next over and delhi were 8 for 2 off the first 2 overs. Then came the most consistent batsman devillers and man for the crisis Dilshan to crease. They started rather cautiously but once settled down started exploding. Dilshan was the main scorer in their partnership and scored quick 50 of just 26 balls and holed out to raina off morkel. Score was reading 76 of 8.3 and much was left on Devillers to carry on from were dilshan left. He indeed took the responsibility and scored a timely century to steer his team out of trouble. This was the first century for IPL season 2 and single handedly took Delhi to a wonderful 189 of their stipulated 20 overs.

In reply Chennai Super kings had a good confident start with their opening pair patel and hayden scoring 57 of the first 5 overs. Patel was the first to go trying to hit sangwan out of the ground and holing out to Devillers. Then Hayden and Raina tried to consolidate but the asking rate was always high which took a toll on chennai and they sccumbed in lieu of chasing such a huge target. But chennai super kings must be commended for their heroic approach in their chase. They came very close but coudnt make it. But what ever it is Delhi got their 2 points and Chennai didnt, at last this is what matters most.

Man of the Match was awarded to AB de Villiers for his Match Winning and First IPL Season 2 Century (105 of 54 balls).

Cricket: "Chennai Super Kings trash Bangalore Royal Challengers"

Chennai Super Kings trash Bangalore Royal Challengers beating them with 92 runs at St George's Park, Port Elizabeth. Chennai Super Kings put the past back and had a thumping win again hapless Bangalore Royal Challengers. They showed their command in all departments.

Chennai won the toss and rightly elected to bat first. Patel and Hayden scored the first century parnership of this series and midway they were 106 without loss. Hayden was more harsh on bangalore, milking 4's and 6's. After the strategic timeout momentom was little deviated towards bangalore as patel was bowled by pietersen. Next ball hayden was runout of dravid's fielding. Then raina kept the momentum going and at end flintoff made sure that the start was not wasted and Chennai compiled a mamoth 179.

In reply bangalore lost early wicket through Praveen Kumar, who was promoted up the order as pinch hitter but was out bowled by Gony in the very first over. There on Uthappa and Kallis added 40 runs for second wicket, Once kallis was out to morkel wickets kept falling like playing cards. With the exception of dravid no other batsmen scored a reasonable score. They were allout for pathetic 87 in 15.2 overs. The wrecker in chief was Murali with 3 for 11 and was well supported by other chennai bowlers.

Man of the Match was rightly awarded to Muralitharan for his 3 for 11 in 4 four overs.
