Match No 22: Chennai Super Kings Vs Rajasthan Royals
Chennai Super Kings started their IPL 2009 campaign poorly but now they are gaining their strenght and showing their authority with big wins. Today they have defeated Rajasthan Royals by 38 runs at SuperSportPark Centurion.
Rajasthan won the toss and elected to field first. Chennai started their Innings quite disastrously when they lost the leading run scorer for IPL 2009 "Hayden" for 1 in 2 balls and soon patel followed him for 3 in 11 balls. Dhoni came to crease and gave a supporting role to Raina. Other end Raina went after the bowling of Rajasthan Royals and played a gem of an innings before being out to Patel. Scorers got confused and declared 100 for Raina when he was still on 98 and that led Raina to score freely and he was out for 98 of 55 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes. Chennai scored a majestic 164 of their allotted 20 overs. For Rajasthan Yousuf Pathan and Munaf patel took 2 wickets each.
Rajasthan Royals started their chase with a setback when their lost smith for just 2 of 5 balls and socre reading 9 of 2 overs.
