Kings XI Punjab won the toss and selected to bowl first. For Chennai Super Kings S Anirudha and M Vijay opened the batting, for Kings XI Punjab P Kumar openined the bowling. Kings XI Punjab tasted success when P Kumar got the wicket of S Anirudha of the very first ball and SK Raina of the very next ball. M Vijay and S Badrinath then shared a brilliant 124 partnership in less than 15 overs. For Kings XI Punjab AC Gilchrist and SE Marsh opened the batting and Pune Warriors who are making their debut opened the bowling with AC Thomas and SB Wagh. Kings XI Punjab had a horror start and in no time AC thomas and SB Wagh where all over them in no time. Within four over Kings XI Punjab scored 9 runs for the loss of 4 top order wickets. With the exception of R McLaren, Kings XI Punjab coudnt come out of the disastrous start and scored just 112 for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Mumbai indians started their chase with a shock when they lost jayasuriya for 1 in second over with 4 on the board. They came the $950,000 baby "Duminy", he with tendulkar blasted the Deccan chargers bowlers to all parts of the ground. At half time they were 86 for 1. They were ahead in all respects untill the strategy break. Then cupid stuck and mumbai started loosing wickets. First was tendular who was foxed by Ojha. Tendulkar hit 36 of 27 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Wickets kept falling and the pressured kept on haunting mumbai indians and they tamely surrendered with the exception of Duminy who stuck a gritty 47 of 40 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Mumbai Indians finished with 156 on the board and lost by 12 runs. For Deccan Chargers Ojha, RP singh and Edwards who took 3,2 and 2 wickets respectively.

Hyderabad Deccan Chargers have turned the table around in IPL Season 2 by winning their second consecutive match. Last time around they have won just 2 matches of the total 14 matches they played. Here at Newlands, Cape Town Hyderabad defeated Bangalore quite confortably and won as many matches they palyed.

Hyderabad Deccan Charges won the toss and rightly elected to bat first. They had an explosive start with Gilchrist and Gibbs going on a rampage. They scored 46 of just 3.4 overs before Gibbs fell to Praveen Kumar for 13 runs. VVS Laxman followed him soon when he gave a simple low catch to steyn off ryder. Then entered Rohit Sharma who was the star for hyderabad in last IPL season. He and Gilchrist added 61 for the 3rd wicket before Gilchrist was out of pieterson's bowling. Rohit played a quiet innings until his captain was around and exploded once he departed. He scored a well made halfcentury and was out to steyn at death. Others chipped in well and Hyderabad scored a respectable 184 of their stipulated 20 overs.

Bangalore had a dismal start to their chase, Edwards yorked Ryder for a one ball duck. Soon kallis, uthappa and pieterson followed him. It was the wall (Dravid) and yound promising player virat kohli who came to bangalore's rescue for a respectable score. Dravid was out for 48 and kohli scored an entertaining 50 and paved way for bangalore to lose the match with pride. Bangalore made 160 of their stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by 24 runs.
