Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 23: Kings XI Punjab v Rajasthan Royals"



Hello and Welcome to 23rd match of IPL 2011 season between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. IPL 2011 season is wide open with no clear dictators so far and each team has showed their strenghts and weaknesses. Lets see what these teams have to offer today.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bowl first. Gilchrist and Valthaty opened the batting for Kings XI Punjab. Kings XI Punjab had a powerful start when Gilchrist and Valthaty blasted all the Rajasthan Royals bowlers to all corners of the park. They made 67 of just 4 overs. Once Gilchrist was out of the bowling of Watson, Valthaty took the scoring burden on his shoulders and played few glorious shots. Once Valthaty was out of the bowling of warne, SE Marsh took it on him to score and with the combined effort Punjab made a fantastic 195 of their 20 overs. For Kings XI Punjab SE March scored 71 and Valthaty 46, for Rajasthan Royals Tait took 3 and Watson 2 wickets respectively.

In reply Rajasthan Royals had a horror start when their openers Dravid and Asnodkar where back to the pavilion within first 3 overs. Watson and Binny tried to increase the temp but once Watson was out of the bowling of Kumar the flood gates where open and wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Rajasthan where bowled out for 147 and Kings XI Punjab won convinsingly by 48 runs. For Rajasthan Royals Menaria scored 34 and Binny 30, for Kings XI Punjab Bhatt and Praveen Kumar took 2 wickets each.


Man of the Match is SE Marsh of Kings XI Punjab for his brutal innings of 71

Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 17: Kolkata Knight Riders v Rajasthan Royals"



Hi and welcome to the Match No 17 of the IPL 2011 season between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have balanced sides and looking good in their respective outings. Lets see how they perform today.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. For Rajasthan Royals SR Watson and AG Paunikar opened the batting, for Kolkata Knight Riders B Lee opened the bowling. Rajasthan Royals had a decent start when they were 24 for no loss in less than 4 overs. Trouble started for Rajasthan Royals when SR Watson was bowled by L Balaji for 11. Soon AG Paunikar followed him in next over for 15 when he was out to Iqbal Abdullah. Rajasthan Royals kept loosing wickets and a small cameo from AL Menaria also coudnt save Rajasthan Royals from getting a good score. Rajasthan Royals finally fell for 81 all out in over 15 overs. For Rajasthan Royals AL Menaria scored 21, for Kolkata Knight Riders L Balaji took 3 and Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets respectively.

In reply Kolkata Knight Riders opened the batting with JH Kallis and MS Bisla, for Rajasthan Royals SW Tait opened the bowling. Kolkata Knight Riders had a horror start when they lost both the openers with 31 on the board in 7 overs. G Gambhir and MK Tiwary then played sensible cricket and took Kolkata Knight Riders home with more than 6 overs to spare and 8 wickets in hand. For Kolkata Knight Riders G Gambhir scored 35* and MK Tiwary scored 30*, for Rajasthan Royals SW Tait and SK Warne took a wicket a piece.


Man of the Match is L Balaji for his spell of 3/15.

Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 7: Rajasthan Royals v Delhi Daredevils"



Hi and Welcome to the 7th match of the IPL 2011 Season between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils. Rajasthan Royals are on a high after their win in their first match and on other hand Delhi Daredevils want to put behind thier loss to Pune warriors and get a move on. Lets see what is the outcome of this intense battle.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and opted to bat first. Delhi Daredevils Opened the batting with DA Warner and V Sehwag, for Rajasthan Royals bowling was opened by SW Tait and A singh. Delhi Daredevils lost V Sehwag in the very first over to SW Tait, this triggered a mini collapse and in no time Delhi where 36 in 7.3 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. DA Warner and Y Venugopal Rao scored 83 runs of 10 overs to revive Delhi Daredevils and with that Delhi Daredevils scored 151 in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. For Delhi Daredevils DA Warner scored 54 and Y Venugopal Rao scored 60, for Rajasthan Royals SW Tait and SK Warne took two wickets each.

In reply Rajasthan Royals lost AG Paunikar early, but R Dravid and J Botha played sensibly and moved the score board on. R Dravid fell for a well played 38 and J Botha stood on one side and played a standing knock and allowed others to play the strokes. J botha stood undefeated till the end with 39 and made sure Rajasthan Royals where home with more than a over to spare. For Rajasthan royals J botha scored 39* and R Dravid 38, for Delhi Daredevils AB Dinda, M Morkel, IK Pathan and RE van der Merwe took a wicket a piece.


Man of the Match was given to SK Warne for his 2 crucial wickets
