Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 33: Delhi Daredevils v Kolkata Knight Riders"



Hello and Welcome to the 33rd Match of the IPL 2011 season between Delhi Daredevils and
Kolkatta Knight Riders. Delhi Daredevils are trying to come out of the bottom and improve their chances of making it to the play offs and on other side Kolkata Knight Riders wants to win and get even close to the Mumbai Indians who are at top of the table. Lets see who defeats whom and goes up in the table.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kolkata Knight Riders opened the batting with JH Kallis and SP Goswami, for Delhi Daredevils IK Pathan opened the bowling. Irfan bowled with intent and went past the outside edge of both JH Kallis and SP Goswami couple of times and was tight. Other hand Delhi Daredevils M Morkel was hammered by both the Delhi Daredevils openers JH Kallis and SP Goswami. Kallis was bowled by IK Pathan and Kolkata Knight Riders started loosing wickets at regular intervals. MK Tiwary who came after the wicket of SP Goswami stood at one end and scored with intent and just because of him Kolkata Knight Riders managed to scored 148 for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. For Kolkata knight riders MK Tiwary scored 61* and SP Goswami 22, for Delhi Daradevils U Yadav took 2 and IK Pathan, M Morkel, AB Agarkar and JR Hopes took 1 wicket respectively.

In reply Delhi Daredevils opened with DA Warner and V Sehwag, for Kolkatta Knight Riders B Lee opened the bowling. Delhi Daredevils lost DA Warner early to L Balaji, but V Sehwag was hitting the ball cleanly and was looking dangerous. V Sehwag and JR Hopes where blazing away towards the target that Sehwag was out to JD Unadkat. After V Sehwags wicket Delhi Daredevils kept loosing wickets at regular intervals. For Kolkata Knight riders Iqbal Abdullah took 3 middle order wickets to tighten the screws on Delhi Daredevils. Delhi Daredevils where 17 short of the target and scored 131 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. For Delhi Daredevils V Sehwag top scored with 34 and JR Hopes scored 25, for Kolkatta Knight riders Iqbal Abdullah took 3 and L Balaji took 2 wickets respectively.


Man of the Match is Kolkata Knight Riders MK Tiwary for his 61 runs.

Score : Kolkata Knight Riders 148 for 7 (MK Tiwary 61*, SP Goswami 22, U Yadav 2/29, IK Pathan 1/16) beat Delhi Daredevils 131 for 9 (V Sehwag 34, JR Hopes 25, Iqbal Abdulla 3/25, L Balaji 2/38) by 17 runs


Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 17: Kolkata Knight Riders v Rajasthan Royals"



Hi and welcome to the Match No 17 of the IPL 2011 season between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have balanced sides and looking good in their respective outings. Lets see how they perform today.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. For Rajasthan Royals SR Watson and AG Paunikar opened the batting, for Kolkata Knight Riders B Lee opened the bowling. Rajasthan Royals had a decent start when they were 24 for no loss in less than 4 overs. Trouble started for Rajasthan Royals when SR Watson was bowled by L Balaji for 11. Soon AG Paunikar followed him in next over for 15 when he was out to Iqbal Abdullah. Rajasthan Royals kept loosing wickets and a small cameo from AL Menaria also coudnt save Rajasthan Royals from getting a good score. Rajasthan Royals finally fell for 81 all out in over 15 overs. For Rajasthan Royals AL Menaria scored 21, for Kolkata Knight Riders L Balaji took 3 and Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets respectively.

In reply Kolkata Knight Riders opened the batting with JH Kallis and MS Bisla, for Rajasthan Royals SW Tait opened the bowling. Kolkata Knight Riders had a horror start when they lost both the openers with 31 on the board in 7 overs. G Gambhir and MK Tiwary then played sensible cricket and took Kolkata Knight Riders home with more than 6 overs to spare and 8 wickets in hand. For Kolkata Knight Riders G Gambhir scored 35* and MK Tiwary scored 30*, for Rajasthan Royals SW Tait and SK Warne took a wicket a piece.


Man of the Match is L Balaji for his spell of 3/15.

Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 6: Kolkata Knight Riders v Deccan Chargers"



Hello and welcome to the 6th match of the IPL 2011 season between Kolkatta Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers. After their respective losses in their first games both the teams are looking for their first win. Lets see who will have their first victory of IPL 2011 season.

Kolkatta Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. Kolkatta Knight Riders opened the batting with JH Kallis and MS Bisla. Kolkatta Knight riders had a steady start and scored their 50 in 8 overs. After Bisla was out to A Mishra, JH Kallis and G Gambhir further added another 40 runs in 4 runs after which JH Kallis was out for his well played fifty. Late blows from MK Tiwary and YK Pathan made sure that Kolkatta Knight Riders scored a healthy and a defendable total of 163 for 4 of their allotted 20 overs. For kolkatta Knight Riders JH Kallis scored 53 and MK Tiwary 30*, for Deccan Chargers A Mishra took 2 wickets.

In reply Hyderabad Deccan Chargers opened the batting with S Dhawan and IR Jaggi and Kolkata knight riders opened the bowling with Iqbal Abdullah and L Balaji. Hyderabad Deccan Chargers had a bad start to their reply when they lost both the openers S Dhawan and IR Jaggi within 4 overs and just 15 on the board. B Chipli and KC Sangakkara tried to build a partnership and where partly successful until KC Sangakkara was out to R Bhatia and KC Sangakkara's wicket triggered another collapse and Hyderabad Deccan chargers never were able to recover and lost the Match by 9 runs. B chipli played really well for his 48 and DT Christian too chipped in with valuable 25 but coudnt get Hyderabad Deccan chargers over the line. For Hyderabad Deccan chargers B Chipli scored 48 and DT Christian scored 25, for Kolkata Knight Riders Iqbal Abdullah took 3 and JD Unadkat and R Bhatia took 2 wickets each respectively.

Man of the Match is JH Kallis for his fifty
