Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 45: Kochi Tuskers Kerala v Kolkata Knight Riders"



Hi and Welcome to the Match No 45 of the IPL 2011 season between Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Kolkata Knight riders. Kolkata Kngiht Riders have been exceptional this IPL 2011 seasona and with each passing game have been the favourites along side Mumbai Indians. Kochi Tuskers Kerala are having a nice and decent debut compared to Pune warriors and todays win will open the IPL 2011 season wide open. Lets see if Kochi Tuskers kerala can challenge the mighty Kolkata Knight riders.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and choosed to bowl first. For Kochi Tuskers Kerala BB McCullum and M Klinger opened the batting, for Kolkata Knight Riders B Lee opened the bowling. Kochi Tuskers Kerala lost BB McCullum early for 1 to JD Unadkat. M Klinger and PA Patel then shared a little partnership with PA Patel dominating it. After the fall of PA Patel to JD Unadkat again, M Klinger and DPMD Jayawardene score a 51 run partnership in less than 7 overs. Soon Kochi Tuskers Kerala lost M Klinger and RA Jadeja and were loosing their way out, but DPMD Jayawardene and Bj Hodge then played some nice shots to take Kochi Tuskers Kerala out to safety and last over surge by BJ Hodge ment Kochi Tuskers Kerala scored more than what they asked for. Kochi Tuskers Kerala scored 156 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Kochi Tuskers Kerala DPMD Jayawardene scored 55 and BJ Hodge scored 35*, for Kolkata Knight Riders JD Unadkat took 2 wickets.

In reply Kolkata Knight Riders opened the batting with JH Kallis and EJG Morgan, for Kochi Tuskers Kerala RP Singh opened the bowling. Kolkata Knight Riders had a fantastic start when JH Kallis and EJG Morgan scored 69 of the first 10 overs without any loss. RV Gomez took 2 important top order wickets in 11th over of JH Kallis and G Gambhir to pull back Kolkata Knight Riders. MK Tiwary soon followed the pavilion when he was out to R Vinay Kumar for 1. EJG Morgan and YK Pathan then scored some nice shots and took Kolkata Knight Riders back on track. After EJG Morgan and YK Pathan where out of consecutive balls Kolkata Knight Riders lost their way and the indeed the match. Kolkata Knight Riders scored 139 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 17 runs. For Kolkata Knight Riders EJG Morgan scored 66 and JH Kallis scored 45, for Kochi Tuskers Kerala R Vinay Kumar and RV Gomez took 2 wickets each.

Man of the Match is BJ Hodge for his 35* and last over surge to B Lee for 22 runs.

Score : Kochi Tuskers Kerala 156 for 5 (DPMD Jayawardene 55, BJ Hodge 35*, JD Unadkat 2/25) beat Kolkata Knight Riders 139 for 7 (EJG Morgan 66, RV Gomez 2/14, R Vinay Kumar 2/28) by 17 runs


Cricket: "IPL 2011 Match No 37: Kolkata Knight Riders v Kings XI Punjab"



Hello and Welcome to 37th Match of the IPL 2011 season between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab. Kolkata Knight Riders are riding high after their win against Delhi Daredevils and on other side Kings XI Punjab lost to the same Delhi Daredevils in a high scoring match. Lets see who will overcome whom in today's battle.

Kolkata Knight riders won the toss and slected to bowl first. For Kings XI Punjab AC Gilchrist and PC Valthaty opened the batting, for Kolkatta Knight Riders B Lee opened the bowling. Kings XI Punjab lost pinch hitters PC Valthaty and SE Marsh early. AC Gilchrist and KD Karthik decreased the pace to repair the innings. Once AC Gilchrist was bowled by Iqbal Abdullah Kings XI Punjab coudnt handle the spin and managed to score just 119 for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. For Kings XI Punjab KD Karthik scored 42 and AC Gilchrist scored 26, for kolkata Knight Riders Iqbal Abdullah took 2 wickets.

In reply Kolkatt Knight Riders opened the batting with JH Kallis and EJG Morgan, Kings XI Punjab opened the bowling with P Kumar. Kolkata Knight Riders lost JH Kallis early for 1, but EJG Morgan enjoyed his opening stinct with some glorious shots but he too was out for 28 when the score was 35 in 4.2 overs. G Gambhir and K Tiwary played some glorious shorts and rotated strike and made sure they didnt lost any more wickets and took Kolkata knight riders home with nearly 3 overs to spare. For Kolkata Knight Riders G Gambhir scored 45* and MK Tiwary 34*, for Kings XI Punjab BA Bhatt took 2 wickets.


Man of the Match is Iqbal Abdullah for his crucial 2 wickets.
