Cricket: "Gibbs and Ojha Make it 3 in a row for Deccan Chargers"

Hyderabad Deccan Chargers are in Supreme form here in IPL Season 2. They defeated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in a edge of the seat thriller at Kingsmeat, Durban.

Hyderabad Deccan Chargers won the toss and rightly elected to bat first. Gilchrist and Gibbs gave them the dream start by scoring 63 in less than 7 overs. Gilchrist was more severe in both scoring 35 of 20 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. But he was caught behind off bravo soon later. Then came DR Smith, he was promoted up the order to move the score board rapidly. With Gibbs he lived up to the expectations when both scored 60 of exactly 6 overs before smith was out for 35 of 22 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Gibbs tried to move the scoreboard, but he was running out of partners at other end and Deccan Chargers ended up scoring 168, atleast 20 to 30 short of what they were capable. For Mumbai Indians Bravo and Malinga were the strike bowlers who took 3 wickets a piece.

Mumbai indians started their chase with a shock when they lost jayasuriya for 1 in second over with 4 on the board. They came the $950,000 baby "Duminy", he with tendulkar blasted the Deccan chargers bowlers to all parts of the ground. At half time they were 86 for 1. They were ahead in all respects untill the strategy break. Then cupid stuck and mumbai started loosing wickets. First was tendular who was foxed by Ojha. Tendulkar hit 36 of 27 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Wickets kept falling and the pressured kept on haunting mumbai indians and they tamely surrendered with the exception of Duminy who stuck a gritty 47 of 40 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Mumbai Indians finished with 156 on the board and lost by 12 runs. For Deccan Chargers Ojha, RP singh and Edwards who took 3,2 and 2 wickets respectively.

Man of the Match was awarded to PP Ojha for his match winning 3 for 21 of 4 overs.
